Hi... Um.... This is kind of awkward for me to ask on a... You know... Fan base and all...
But you see, I have never played, nor watched- really had any expirence with Final Fantasy. But the art in the movies and here on this site looks absolutely amazing. Being a huge fan of CG, I've kinda always wanted to watch the movies... But have been to afraid to ask. So my big question, now that I've been whining on for so long DX Do you have to play the game, and/ or watch the series to understand the latest movies? Or is that just a stupid question?
So so sorry for wasting your time, but this just feels like something I could properly fan-girl over... Thank you again, Clockwork~
Well it depends on what you mean with "latest movies". There are only 2^^ One of them is called Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and stands alone. You can watch it without any background knowledge. The other one is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and continues the story of the game. There's an anime called Last Order – Final Fantasy VII, which tells the background story of the game. Another anime Legend of the Crystals takes place 200 years after the events of Final Fantasy V. And one last anime is Final Fantasy Unlimited, which also stands alone, if my source doesn't betray me.^^
Thank you so much for responding! Well, after twenty minutes of just staring at the screen after I sent that out I completely disregarded all sense, and practically ran to the movie store- twenty minutes later I was watching Advent Children. I had some idea what was going on. But defiantly, by the end, I just was staring at the screen in awe. It was truly amazing, from the CG, (which my father and I were big fans of, absolutely breathtaking) to the story. (The ending made me shed a few tears, also breathtaking.)
